What the Goodwater Loop is known for

A 24-mile loop trail circling Lake Georgetown on the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge and Lake Georgetown COE lands in Williamson County, Texas. The trail traces the deeply dissected limestone canyons and cedar-juniper uplands along the lake's north and south shores, with frequent lake views and several creek crossings. The route crosses County Road 258 twice and passes through Russell Park and Cedar Breaks Park, both of which have developed campsites. The trail is generally well-signed and rideable in either direction; most hikers split it into two days with an overnight at one of the lakeside parks.
